CASTELRONDA
A journey into the past
View of Trostburg Castle in summer

Castelronda

A journey into medieval time

01. - 02.06.2024

"The women and the knights, the sufferings and pleasures
that love and courtesy desired, where hearts
have become so vicious"

Dante Alighieri - The Divine Comedy (Purgatorio), Canto XIV

Experience the Middle Ages with all your senses. Numerous events are offered at six castles - immerse yourself in a special atmosphere with spectacles, medieval costumes, noblewomen and knights on horseback.

The castle landscape in South Tyrol invites you to stroll and discover its treasures. Especially during Castelronda, when the most beautiful castles in and around Bolzano open their doors to visitors and reveal all their secrets in courtyards, prisons, and towers... Six castles and fortresses are involved in the initiative: Castel Trostburg in Waidbruck, Castel Runkelstein Castle in Bolzano, Castel Rafenstein  in Jenesien, Castel Festenstein Ruins in Andrian, and Castel Hocheppan and Castel Boymont in Eppan. Ladies and knights will present a rich program for an unforgettable weekend of fun and history.

The castle festival gives summer in and around Bolzano a fairytale touch.
